When you use Media Player for Windows XP to play a DVD with the Closed Captions option enabled, and you put Windows XP into Suspend mode or Hibernate mode, the Closed Captions option is disabled when you resume.
NOTE: Playback may also resume at the beginning of the chapter that was playing.
This behavior occurs because the Closed Caption setting is NOT preserved during Suspend mode or during Hibernate mode.
To workaround this behavior:
1. Resume playback.
2. Press Captions and Subtitles on the Play menu.
3. Press Closed Captions.
NOTE: Media Player for Windows XP is dependent on MPEG-2 codecs that are not provided by Microsoft.
