JSI Tip 6002. You cannot Add or Remove Programs in Control Panel?

I discussed one possible solution to the subject problem in tip 2764 - Windows 2000 Add/Remove Programs tool displays incorrectly?.

If the above solution does NOT correct the problem, it may be caused by a bug in Internet Explorer.

To resolve the problem, reinstall Internet Explorer. See How do I reinstall Internet Explorer 6.0 in Windows XP?

After restarting your computer, if the problem persists:

1. Restart your computer and press F8 to select the Advanced startup options.

2. Start in Safe mode with networking.

3. Log on as the local Administrator. Windows Update should start and update Browsing services, Internet tools, and System services.

4. Restart the computer.
