JSI Tip 5869. Windows 95/98/Me users cannot run a logon script?

When a user logs on to a Windows 95/98/Me computer, the logon script assigned to their domain account does NOT run?

When the same user logs on to a Windows NT-based operating system (Windows NT, Windows 2000, Windows XP, .NET Server), their logon script processes?

If you used a .cmd extension, change it to a .bat extension.

NOTE: You could also associate .cmd with Command.com on the client computers, but that is more work.

NOTE: Do NOT use a long file name for the logon script if you have Windows 95/98/Me or DOS clients.
