JSI Tip 5637. If you use 'Set Program Access and Defaults' to hide icons, and subsequently remove the Service Pack, you cannot restore the hidden icons?

When you use Set Program Access and Defaults to hide Internet Explorer and/or Outlook Express and/or Windows Media Player, and subsequently un-install the Service Pack, you cannot restore desktop access to these programs. The program executables run fine, but they are NOT available on the desktop or Start menu.

To restore these icons:

1. Install the Service Pack.

2. Un-hide the icons.

3. Un-install the Service Pack.
