JSI Tip 5522. How can I identify all non-Microsoft services on my Windows computer?

The easiest way to identify all non-Microsoft services is to use Msconfig.exe.

NOTE: If you are using Windows 2000, see tip 4221 » How do I use MSConfig in Windows 2000?

In Msconfig.exe, check the Hide all Microsoft Services box at the bottom of the Services tab. The Window will display all non-Microsoft services.

NOTE: Make sure that you uncheck the Hide all Microsoft Services box when you are finished.
