JSI Tip 5321. RIS issues a 'This computer does not have enough disk space on the selected partition' error?

When you deploy a RIS image that was created by Riprep.exe, you receive:

Setup cannot copy the operating system image you selected.

This computer does not have enough disk space on the selected partition.

Contact your system administrator.

If the hard disk on the source (imaged) computer is larger that the hard disk on the destination (target) computer, you will receive this error.

NOTE: The RIS server stores the disk volume information in the Imirror.dat file that is associated with the image.

Per tip 5318 » What are the restrictions for imaging clients using Riprep.exe:

The client's local hard disk must be of equal or greater size as the imaged computer.

To fix this problem, either re-create the RIS image on a smaller hard disk, or install a larger hard disk on the target computer.
