If you install file-monitoring software, your Start menu may stop responding?

Some file-monitoring programs attempt to set the Last Access Time on the .lnk (shortcut) files on the Start menu, which may cause the Start menu to stop responding.

To workaround this problem, configure your file-monitoring software to ignore .lnk files.
