In tip 0015, we used the registry to manage the ability to shutdown the system without logging on.
To use Group Policy on a standalone computer:
1. Start / Run / gpedit.msc / OK.2. Navigate to Computer Configuration / Windows Settings / Security Settings / Local Policies / Security Options.
3. Double-click Allow system to be shut down without having to log on.
4. Select Disabled and press OK.
5. Exit Group Policy and restart your computer.
To use Group Policy in a domain:
1. Open the Active Directory Users and Computers snap-in.2. Right-click your domain and press Properties.
3. Select the Group Policy tab.
4. Select the Group Policy you want, such as Default Domain Policy, and press Edit.
5. Navigate to Computer Configuration / Windows Settings / Security Settings / Local Policies / Security Options.
6. Double-click Allow system to be shut down without having to log on.
7. Select Disabled and press OK.
8. Close the Group Policy editor.
