JSI Tip 4581. How do I disable an individual Shell Search function?

In tip 3584, we used the Remove Search menu from Start Menu Group Policy to remove the Search button from the Start menu.

If you just want to disable an individual search, leave the Group Policy as Not Configured and delete one or more of the following Keys:

Search for Key
For Files or Folders... HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FindExtensions\Static\ShellSearch\0
On the Internet... HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FindExtensions\Static\WebSearch\0
For Printer HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FindExtensions\Static\ShellSearch\2
Using Microsoft Outlook... HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FindExtensions\Static\OutlookFind\0
For People... HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FindExtensions\Static\WabFind\0
Search for computers
(in My Network Places)

The user must logoff and logon for this change to be effective.
