JSI Tip 4181. Windows 2000 hangs during shutdown due to a resource conflict?

When you attempt to shutdown Windows 2000, the computer hangs on a blank screen and the mouse pointer and/or keyboard is non-responsive.

If you do NOT have a floppy controller, the Standard Floppy Disk Controller in Device Manager displays:

This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12)

When you shut down from Safe mode, you receive:

STOP 0x0000009F
Driver_Power_State_Failure

If you have PACE Interlok anti-piracy software installed, the Tpkd.sys driver uses the same IRQ as the Standard Floppy Disk Controller, which causes the conflict.

Download Tpkd.zip, unzip, and install it.
