JSI Tip 4071. Password-protected office documents are NOT indexed?

The Microsoft Office Index Filter included with Windows 2000 Server and Windows NT 4.0 Server cannot open and index Office documents that are password-protected with the Protection feature in Microsoft Office programs.

Microsoft says this feature is by design.
