A. If you have ever enabled group policy, local or domain, those Group Policy Objects are tested during startup, adding to the length of time that Windows 2000 uses to start up. Even if you have subsequently set every policy to Not Defined, the policy processing still takes place.
To speed up the application of Group Policy:
1. Open the group policy that you had previously applied.
2. Select the top level object (Local Computer Policy, Default Domain Policy...., etc..).
3. On the Action menu, press Properties.
4. In the Disable section, check the following boxes. Respond Yes to the warning prompt.
5. Press Apply.
6. Press OK.
7. Close the MMC.
