JSI Tip 3187. Windows 2000 Service Pack does NOT update the registry install path?

When you install SP1 from a network share, the update.exe program improperly updates the ServicepackSourcePath value.

To fix the problem, set the network share path one or more levels above the required I386 folder:

If the Service Pack files are located at \\Servername\W2KServicePack\I386, set the share at W2KServicePack and modify the ServicepackSourcePath value to \\Servername\W2KServicePack.

NOTE: If you don't do this, SFC will prompt for the location.
