JSI Tip 3146. Windows 2000 can't Add Standard TCP/IP Printer Port?

When using the Add Standard TCP/IP Printer Port wizard. you receive:

The address is not valid. Please enter a valid address and try again.

If you entered a FQDN (Fully Qualifed Domain Name) that exceeds 16 characters, you will receive this error.

The solution is to use the IP address of the print server, instead of the FQDN.
