When you restart, after installing a multi-port serial adapter, your program windows are inactive. When you click to make them active, they revert to inactive?
The process of adding additional serial ports to the Windows 2000 registry takes considerable resources, and time. A multi-port card must add serveral port entry sets.
Once the process finishes, programs will become available.
NOTE: This only occurs on the first restart, after adding the adapater.
