JSI Tip 2549. How do I recover readable information if my file is on a bad sector?

The Recover command reads the specified file sector by sector, assuming it can lock the drive, and recovers readable data. Data in the bad sectors is lost.

The syntax is:

Recover <Drive:>\folder\filename.ext

You can not use wild cards.

After recovery, 'edit' the file to 'type' the missing information.

NOTE: CHKDSK <Drive:&GT: /R will locate bad sectors.
