JSI Tip 2375. Your Windows 2000 attached UPS doesn't power off after shutdown?

In Windows NT 4.0, your simple signaling UPS would power down after a shutdown.

Windows NT 4.0 would allow processes to run with limited resources after shutdown, so the UPS service could signal the UPS to power off.

Window 2000 terminates all processes during shutdown, so the UPS service can NOT signal the UPS to power off.

As this is by design, there is no workaround.
