JSI Tip 2366. What is the SFUUSER account?

When you install Windows Services for UNIX (SFU) version 2.0, the SFUUSER account is created with limited privileges. The account does NOT have Change Password rights and is a member of the Users group.

The SFU Cron and Remote Shell services attempt to run programs in the context of the user who invoked them. If all authentication mechanisms fails, services that support this special user will start programs in the SFUUSER context.

NOTE: Do not attempt to delete, disable, or reset the password on the SFUUSER account.
