JSI Tip 2335. Windows 2000 setup is slow when 'Examining Hard Drives', if your system has multiple non-partitioned drives.

In the subject configuration, Windows 2000 may appear to stop responding during the 'Examining Hard Drives' portion of text-mode setup.

The only solution is to pre-partition the extra drives, possibly in another computer, or to disconnect them during setup.

If you don't, Windows 2000 setup, an already lenghty process, will run even longer.

NOTE: After setup, you can re-partition these drives.
