JSI Tip 2263. Where do I create a SFM volume in Windows 2000?

In Windows NT 4.0, you used the MacFile tool, File Manager (Winfile.exe), or the Server tool, but these are not available in Windows 2000.

To create a SFM volume in Windows 2000:

1. Right-click My Computer and Press Manage.

2. In System Tools, press Shares ( in Shared Folders).

3. Right-click on a blank area in the right hand pane and press New and File Share.

4. The Create Shared Folder wizard will lead you through the process. Don't forget to select Accessible .../ Apple Macintosh.

NOTE: There is no requirement to use the same share names for Apple and Windows clients (for the same share).
