JSI Tip 2141. You get inconsistent error messages, when you are unable to connect to a shared resource?

If you attempt to connect to a shared resources in Windows Explorer, and you do not have permission, you receive:

\\ServerName\ShareName is not accessible. Access is denied

If you try to connect at a CMD prompt, you receive:

The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect.

Both Windows NT 4.0 and Windows 2000 report this incorrectly. The message should be:

Access is denied.
