JSI Tip 1911. You lost your CD KEY and you need to reinstall?.

The CD KEY, which is on the Windows NT CD jewel case, is required to perform an install. If you lost it, use Regedt32 to navigate to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProductId

The CD KEY is the 6th through 15th character of the ProductID string.

NOTE: If you run WinMsd.exe (Windows NT Diagnostics), you can find the CD KEY on the 4th line of the Version tab. It is the 2nd and 3rd hyphen (-) delineated string.
