The subject behavior can happen if there is registry key conflict. To resolve the problem:
01. Control Panel / Network / Protocols / TCP/IP / Remove and press Yes.
02. Press Yes to restart your computer.
03. Re-apply your latest Service Pack.
04. Remove the keys in the registry as described in tip 1127.
05. Restart your computer.
06. Control Panel / Network / Protocols / Add.
07. Select TCP/IP and press OK.
08. Click Yes to dynamically assign the IP address or No to assign it manually.
09. Click .
10. Close all applications and click Yes to restart your computer.
11. Re-apply your latest Service Pack.
12. Reconfigure TCP/IP.
