JSI Tip 1313. Incorrect CMOS setting may cause NTFS conversion to fail.

Ater a successful installation on FAT16, a CONVERT to NTFS may fail on restart with:

DISK READ ERROR OCCURRED

If you view the partition with the MS-DOS Fdisk utility, it may be reported as HPFS.

The CMOS setting may be Normal when it should be LBA or Autoselect.

The CMOS may also be out-dated.

You must correct the CMOS settings and re-partition before installing Windows NT.
