JSI Tip 0897. Poorly written app may cause Windows NT to BSOD (0x0000001E or 0x00000024) on close.

If you experience the subject STOP messages, it may be that your application is opening a lot of handles but never closing them, as in opening a registry key. When you exit the application, Windows NT attempts to close all the open handles and exhausts all the system resources while trying.

There is no Windows NT fix at this time.

The application must be modified to close open handles when it is done with them.

You could possibly close the application frequently, to reduce the possibilty of too many open handles.
