It might be too late to get a pair of solar eclipse viewing glasses but this article at Space.com provides some locations to try to see if they still have any available.
If you are unable to get a pair do not try to make up your own as the brightness of the Sun, even when nearly fully eclipsed, can permanently damage your eyes.
However, if you are in an area where the eclipse will be visible there are some other options that involve indirect viewing in a safe way to see the eclipse as it occurs.
P.S. Just for fun - look through the shadows cast by a tree and its leaves during the eclipse to see multiple views of the eclipse through the Sun that passed the leaves of the tree.
