My dual monitor installation is running out of system page table entries.

A. This is a known issue with Windows 2000 and is caused as page table entries (PTEs) are required to map the frame buffer and with multiple graphics adapters more are used.

To correct this the number of system pages should be increased as follows:

  1. Start the registry editor (regedit.exe)
  2. Move to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management
  3. Double click SystemPages
  4. Set to decimal and set to value 36000
  5. Click OK
  6. Close the registry editor
  7. Reboot the machine
