ASCo Group, the largest logistics service provider to the international oil and gas industry, selected Comshare Inc.'s financial consolidation solution, Comshare FDC, to streamline its management planning and control process. Comshare FDC will collect financial data from spreadsheets and general ledgers at 23 reporting sites, including the United States and Norway, and manage the data in a shared, secure database. Finance staff at ASCo Group's headquarters in Aberdeen, Scotland, will use FDC to produce financial reports, analysis, and advanced exception alerting. "Within 30 days, phase one went live for consolidating actual and budget data," says Ian Ross, ASCo Group's financial controller. "The next step is to take advantage of FDC's powerful analysis and advanced exception alerting so we can quickly identify exceptional results." The alliance further strengthens Comshare's Scottish customer base, which includes Scottish Courage Ltd., John Menzies PLC, Scottish Power Ltd., Dawson International Ltd., and Aggreko PLC.
