A. Before you can schedule a backup, you need to ensure that the Schedule Service is running on the target machine. The service doesn’t need to be running on the issuing machine. (For information about the Schedule Service, see the FAQ How do I schedule commands?
As long as the Schedule Service is running, you can use NT Backup to submit a backup command. Enter a command similar to the following.
at 22:00 /every:M,T,W,Th,F ntbackup backup d: /v /b
The example command would schedule a backup of drive D, as well as the local registry (with verification), every weekday at 10:00 P.M.
If you’re having scheduling problems, you might want to use the /interactive switch. This option lets you interact with the backup program.
