Mobility for SharePoint On-Premises and Office 365

AgreeYa Mobility announced Onvelop, a unified collaboration and communication platform that enables secure mobile access to Office 365, SharePoint, and Lync from iOS, Android, and Windows 8 mobile devices. Users can review documents, create events and announcements, chat, call via Lync/OCS, have a SharePoint document review meeting online via chat or call conferencing, check out and update documents from SharePoint, and check them back in to SharePoint so that updates become available to other enterprise users in the same network—from the mobile device.

Onvelop also provides enterprise administrators with a web-based dashboard for easy remote license management and enterprise-data control on the Onvelop platform. To learn more, see the Onvelop website.

Track Mail Across Office 365 and More

GSX Solutions announced the release of GSX Monitor & Analyzer v10.6 with the ability to track mail availability and performance across hybrid environments, including Exchange 2007 to 2013, Office 365, and IBM Domino.

The new GSX Monitor & Analyzer feature enables administrators to do such things as track availability and performance during migrations from earlier versions of Exchange; compare cloud vs. on-premises performance, and more.

Also released was the enhanced GSX Management Pack for SCOM. New features include a “back-up” alert, which is automatically closed in the SCOM dashboard, eliminating the need for admins to check alerts manually. To learn more, see the GSX Software website.

Building SharePoint Mobile Solutions

H3 Solutions announced Mobile Entrée 5.0, a mobile web app for SharePoint. It offers a simplified interface of workflow tasks and easier navigation of the SharePoint 2013 My Sites feature. It enables companies to offer mobile experience to employees without having to install an app on every device. It also provides an API that enables users to build their own SharePoint mobility applications.

Additionally, Mobile Entrée 365 (ME365) offers mobile access to SharePoint in the Office 365 cloud.  ME365 will be available in the SharePoint 2013 App Store for Office 365. To learn more, see the Mobile Entrée website.

Improving Enterprise Metadata Management in SharePoint

Layer2 announced SharePoint Knowledge Management Suite V2.4, designed to jump-start DMS, KM, and Social Networking projects for portals based on SharePoint Server 2013 and 2010 technology.

Layer2 Taxonomy Manager for SharePoint improves the default metadata management features with advanced import, export, update, and deployment features. The Layer2 Tag Suggester for SharePoint lets users add metadata to SharePoint items or documents. Layer2 Auto Tagger for SharePoint classifies content automatically with metadata, based on rules, existing content properties, item context and document text content.

The Layer2 Tag Navigation Web Part for SharePoint adds additional navigation options to the SharePoint default. Also available are the Layer2 Tag Directory Web Part for SharePoint, the Layer2 Tag Cloud Web Part for SharePoint, and the Layer2 Related Content Web Part for SharePoint, among many solutions for SharePoint that Layer2 offers.
