Apple iPad and Microsoft SharePoint Unite
A SharePoint solution vendor announces tool for letting iPad users access and work in SharePoint.
May 7, 2012
The Apple iPad and SharePoint were made for each other--at least from an end-user's perspective. Today, the aptly named SharePoint vendor harmon.ie brings the two together in its new product, harmon.ie. for iPad. The company announced harmon.ie for iPad with its "Don't SharePoint While Walking" campaign and a clever tongue-in-cheek video.
With harmon.ie for iPad, a user on the go can work on a presentation, drag-and-drop it to SharePoint, and send a link to colleagues using harmon.ie in Microsoft Outlook or IBM Lotus Notes. Document updates notify the user if colleagues made changes, and the user can then access the latest version of the document via the iPad, edit it, and share it with the team when back online. The team receives a real-time update after the revised document is uploaded.
The solution costs $19.99 and is now available via iTunes. A harmon.ie Lite app is available for free. An enterprise version that provides support for download and provisioning is planned for release later in Q2. The harmon.ie webpage tells more.
