Survey Says . . . CFOs and CIOs Don’t Always Agree on Business Intelligence Plans

Results from a recent Business Finance Magazine survey reveal that business decision makers and technical decision makers may view business intelligence through different lenses—specifically, that they tend to have different views on what their companies should use the burgeoning technology for. The survey asked readers of Business Finance Magazine (via mail) and visitors to the Window NT Magazine and SQL Server Magazine Web sites (online) what they’re using business intelligence for and what they’re hoping to use it for in the future. Data gathered on the respondents’ job titles and company types showed—not surprisingly—that the Web-based version attracted a more technically oriented audience than the mail-based version, and answers to many of the questions are sometimes sharply differentiated along audience lines. See the full survey results at the Business Finance Magazine Web site.
