Q. What is Sysinternals Live?

A. Mark Russinovich and Bryce Cogswell created the popular Sysinternals Web site in 1996 to host their advanced system utilities and technical information. Microsoft acquired the site in July 2006. The Sysinternals Live Web page service lets you execute the utilities directly from the page.

To run a tool, type the following at the command line:

\\live.sysinternals.com\tools\<tool name>

For example, to run Process Explorer (procexp.exe), type:

\\live.sysinternals.com\tools\procexp.exe

When you run one of the tools, a dialog box will pop up warning you about executing Internet-downloaded programs.
