Microsoft Cross-Platform Remote Desktop App Gets Its First Bug Update

Ironically, Microsoft's hottest app most recently was the cross-platform (iOS, Android, and Mac OS X) release of Remote Desktop, and it's not even yet available for Microsoft's own mobile OS, Windows Phone. Two weeks after release, Brad Anderson, Corporate Vice President, Windows Server & System Center, took to his blog to announce that the app had been downloaded over 1 million times.

On November 21st, 2013, Microsoft announced that the app's first update was available to fix some bugs and improve performance.

What's been updated:

iOS

  • Pinch to zoom support in mouse pointer mode
  • Performance improvements
  • iPhone 5 screen resolution fix

Android

  • Pinch to zoom support in mouse pointer mode
  • Performance improvements
  • Improved support for stylus input

Mac OS X

  • Improved full screen support for OS X 10.7 - 10.9
  • Performance improvements
