Microsoft Announces Office XP Corporate Preview Program

Yesterday, Microsoft announced the immediate availability of the Office XP Corporate Preview Program that lets customers preview the next version of the company's market-leading Office productivity suite. Based on the Release Candidate 1 (RC1) version of Office XP, the Corporate Preview Program will supply 500,000 users with Office XP Professional with FrontPage, a massive expansion from the 10,000 users who evaluated Office XP Beta 2, which was released last November. Office XP is due to be released in May.

"We're extremely excited to reach this milestone for Office XP," said Steven Sinofsky, Microsoft's senior vice president of Office. "Office XP delivers a broad range of new opportunities for everyone in an organization--from the individual user to the IT administrator--and we are thrilled to deliver the preview release of Office XP to hundreds of thousands of corporate customers."

The Corporate Preview Program includes Word 2002, Outlook 2002, Excel 2002, PowerPoint 2002, Access 2002, and FrontPage 2002 RC1 software, multilanguage packs, and a product overview CD-ROM. The suite can be evaluated for $19.95, and the software expires August 31. For more information, visit the Microsoft Web site.
