JSI Tip 8897. When you update a print driver on a clustered Windows Server 2003, the client's local printer driver is NOT updated the next time they connect to the print server?

To workaround the subject behavior, you can use any of the following:

  • Delete and re-add the printer.

  • Add the client user to the domain's Printer Operators group and insure that the printer's Security tab is refreshed.

  • Add the client user to the local Power Users group in the Windows Server 2003 cluster and insure that the printer's Security tab is refreshed.

NOTE: See How to install printer drivers from a network print server.

NOTE: See Description of the Point and Print restrictions policy setting in Windows .NET Server and Windows XP.
