JSI Tip 8696. Windows XP SP2 will not let you change the Cache property of a Secure Digital storage device?

When you attempt to use Device Manager to change the Cache property of your Secure Digital storage device, the change has no effect.

If you open the device's Properties and use the Policies tab to change from Optimize for quick removal to Optimize for performance, the change has no effect.

This behavior occurs because Windows XP SP2 improperly reveals the Cache property of a Secure Digital storage device as if it were a user changeable option.
