JSI Tip 8121. When the Windows Server 2003 Fax service receives an image, the paper size of the printed fax doesn't match the image?

When the Fax service routes a received image to a printer, it uses the paper size that you specified in the printer preferences. If your printer is set for letter size paper, and you receive a legal-size fax, it may be printed on two pages.

If you regularly receive legal-size documents, you can change the default paper size:

1. Use the Start menu to select Printers and Faxes.

2. Right-click the printer and press Properties.

3. Select the General tab.

4. Press Printing Preferences.

5. Select the Layout tab.

6. Press Advanced.

7. Select the paper size in the Paper Size list and press OK, OK, and OK.

NOTE: See How to set up printing preferences for remote and local users in Windows Server 2003.
