JSI Tip 6815. The driver for your Enterprise 1600 RAID controller is NOT updated when you Upgrade from Windows 2000 to Windows Server 2003?

When you upgrade from Microsoft Windows 2000 to Windows Server 2003 on a computer with an Enterprise 1600 RAID controller, the Windows 2000 miniport driver (Mraid2k.sys) is not upgraded to the Mraid35x.sys Inbox driver.

Note The Windows 2000 Mraid2k.sys miniport driver may also be used by other adapters in Windows 2000.

This behavior will occur if the .inf files have matching Plug and Play (PnP) IDs.

To update the driver to the Mraid35x.sys Inbox driver:

01. Right-click My Computer and press Properties.

02. On the Hardware tab, press Device Manager.

03. Expand SCSI and Raid controllers.

04. Right-click the RAID controller and press Properties.

05. On the Driver tab, press Update Driver.

06. In the Hardware Update Wizard, select Install from a list or specific location \[Advanced\].

07. Press Next.

08. Select Don't search. I will choose the driver to install and press Next.

09. Select the RAID controller and press Next.

10. Press Finish.

11. Press Close.

12. Close Device Manager.

13. Close the System Properties dialog.

14. Shutdown and restart your server.
