JSI Tip 6713. Some Windows 2000 Support Tools don't work when you use the syntax from the Help file?

The syntax in the Help file of the Windows 2000 Support Tools sometimes lists the parameters in lower case.

Some tools, like dnscmd, have parameters that must be specified in the exact case. The Help file lists /eventloglevel for a parameter of the dnscmd <ServerName> /Config command, but the actual parameter is /EventlogLevel.

To insure you are using the correct syntax, use the /? switch at the command prompt, as in:

dnscmd <ServerName> /Config /?
