JSI Tip 6007. How do I change the color that Windows XP Explorer uses to display encrypted files?

In tip 0573, we used the registry to alter the color that Windows Explorer uses to display compressed objects.

To alter the color that Windows Explorer uses to display encrypted files:

1. Alter the rr, gg, and bb values in the following EncryptColor.reg file, using the table from tip 0573:

REGEDIT4

\[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\]
"AltEncryptionColor"=hex:rr,gg,bb,00

2. Merge the EncryptColor.reg file with the registry or run regedit /s EncryptColor.reg.
