If you edit your images on Windows XP, the thumbnail cache makes it difficult to view the current version.
To disable the thumbnail cache:
1. Copy / Paste the following to a DTC.reg file:
REGEDIT4
\[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\]
"DisableThumbnailCache"=dword:00000001
2. Merge the DTC.reg file with your registry or run regedit /s DTC.reg.
3. Log off and log on for this setting to take effect.
