JSI Tip 5388. Why does the DNS service take longer to start when using Active Directory integrated zones?

When you switch DNS from a standard primary zone to an Active Directory integrated zone, the service takes longer to start?

When the DNS service starts, it must load all the zone information into memory. When DNS is configured as a standard primary zone, it reads the zone information from a zone file. When you switch to an Active Directory integrated zone, the service must retrieve the information from the Active Directory, which is slower than reading a file.
