When using the Windows Classic theme, the icons in the notification area may disappear when you select a High Contrast scheme in the Color Schemes box on the Appearance tab.
To workaround this feature, use either of the following:
- Right-click a blank area of the task bar and press Lock the Taskbar.
- Change the size of the taskbar and then change it back.
