JSI Tip 4020. How can I allow an SBS 4.x client to use dial-up networking?

When the WinSock Proxy (WSP) Client is enabled, it will redirect most IP traffic to go through the Proxy server.

You must disable WSP to allow dial-up networking on an SBS 4.x client:

1. In Control Panel, double-click WSP Client.

2. Clear the Enable WinSock Proxy Client box.

3. Press OK.

4. If there is an active WinSock session, restart the client computer.

To establish connectivity through the SBS server:

1. In Control Panel, double-click WSP Client.

2. Check the Enable WinSock Proxy Client box.

3. Press OK.

NOTE: CERN compatible applications (Internet Explorer) should be configured NOT to use Proxy Server:

Internet Explorer / View menu / Internet Options / Connection tab.
Clear the Access the Internet using a proxy server box.
