JSI Tip 2244. Windows 2000 can map a drive letter below a share.

Using the Map Network Drive ... command in Windows 2000 Explorer, or the NET USE command from a CMD prompt, Windows 2000 can map a drive letter below a share.

Example:

NET USE <Drive:> \\ServerName\ShareName\Folder1\Folder2\Folder3

Administrators can access a drive from the network by using:

NET USE <Drive:> \\ServerName\C$\Folder1\Folder2\Folder3

               or even

<command> \\ServerName\C$\Folder1\Folder2\Folder3 \[...etc...\]
