If you receive the following message while installing a program:
The installation/removal of a previous program was not completed. Setup must restart your computer before proceeding with Installation. After windows has been restarted, please run setup again to complete installation.
your install package uses the InstallShield Wizard.
If you restart your computer and try again, you get the same error message.
To resolve the problem, use Regedt32 to navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager
Select PendingFileRenameOperations in the right hand pane and press Delete.
NOTE: If you have W9x clients that experience this same problem, locate wininit.ini in the Windows folder and rename it wininit.xxx.
