JSI Tip 10555. When you open Control Panel / User Accounts in Windows XP, you receive 'Microsoft HTML Application host has encountered a problem and needs to close'?

When you use Control Panel to open the User Accounts applet on a Windows XP computer, you receive an error that is similar to:

Microsoft HTML Application host has encountered a problem and needs to close.

This behavior will occur if the the mshtml.dll file is not correctly registered.

To resolve this behavior:

1. Open a CMD.EXE window.

2. Type the following command and press Enter:

regsvr32 /s mshtml.dll
