When you attempt to open the Address Book, or send e-mail, you receive an error message in Outlook Express 6.0. If you use templates to send e-mail, you cannot open them in compose mode.
This behavior occurs after you install MS06-016: Cumulative Security Update for Outlook Express.
NOTE: Resolution of this behavior will make your computer, or network, more vulnerable to malicious attack.
To resolve this problem for Windows XP SP2 (Service Pack 2) or Windows Server 2003:
To open the templates in compose mode:
1. Open a CMD.EXE window.
2. Type the following command and press Enter:
REG ADD "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\FEATURE_HONOR_XUNSENT_IN_FILE" /V msimn.exe /T REG_DWORD /F /D 1To turn of the security checks:
