JSI Tip 10366. You experience a dialing rules problem after you uninstall SP1 (Service Pack 1) from Windows Server 2003?

After uninstalling SP1 from Windows Server 2003, you are no longer able to select a location in the Country/region list of Control Panel / Phone and Modem Options. Some applications that require dialing rules do not function correctly.

To restore the dialing rules functionality to pre-SP1:

1. Open a CMD.EXE Window.

2. Type REG ADD "HKLM\software\Microsoft\windows\Currentversion\Telephony\Country List" /V CountryListVersion /T REG_DWORD /F /D 0 and press Enter.

3. Type net stop tapisrv and press Enter. Type Y to any response.

4. Type net start tapisrv and press Enter. If you stopped any dependent service as a result of a prompt in step 3, start them using the net start "<Service Name>" command.

5. If you made custom modifications under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\Microsoft\windows\Currentversion\Telephony\Country List, you must re-apply them and repeat steps 3 and 4.
